Upon arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport you will pick up your rental vehicle and drive the +-40km to Windhoek. Check in at the hotel pension and the rest of the day is at your own leisure. This gives you the opportunity to relax at the hotel pension after the long flight.

Day 2: Windhoek
On this day you can explore Windhoek and visit the famous landmarks. Windhoek combines the modern city architectural style with that of the German colonial era. Historic sites to visit in the town centre are the ‘Christuskirche’, ‘Alte Feste’ (Old Fort), ‘Tintenpalast’ (Parliament Buildings), Zoo Park, ‘Reiterdenkmal’, Museum and the Craft Centre.

Day 3: Intu Africa
Travel southwards into the largest sand mass on earth, the Kalahari. The bushman refer to it as the “Soul of the World”, an emotive description for this area! With its endless grass plains interspersed with Acacia’s and shrubs, it is the only form of survival for a vast amount of wildlife and migrating bushman communities. Enjoy the opportunity to experience the fauna and flora that have survived this desert environment for thousands of years in your own vehicle.

Day 4: Cañon Lodge
The trip continues further into the south of Namibia, to the Fish River Canyon. On your way you can stop over at the Quiver Tree Forest and the Giant's Playground (at own expense). After you have checked in at the lodge, the rest of the day can be spent at own leisure.

Day 5: Fish River Canyon
You can spend the day visiting the Fish River Canyon, which is situated along the lower reaches of the Fish River and is one of the most impressive natural beauties in Namibia. With a depth of up to 530 metres, the Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world, only to be beaten by the Grand Canyon in America. If time allows you can drive down as far as Ai-Ais to visit the hot springs.

Day 6: Klein Aus Vista
Depart the lodge and continue to Aus where there is the possibility to see some desert adapted horses, which are believed to left here by the Germans in the first world war. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing at the lodge or you can take part in the optional activities offered by the lodge (at own expense).

Day 7: Lüderitz Nest Hotel
Today you will drive to Lüderitz, a small harbour town known for its colonial architecture. You can either explore the town on your own or take part in one of the following activities (at own expense):
• Trip to Kolmanskop – a ghost town in the Namib Desert
• Sedina boat trip – starting from Lüderitz harbour, passing the Diaz Point, lighthouse and cape fur seals

Day 8: Sossusvlei Lodge
On your way to the Sossusvlei Lodge, you will have the opportunity to visit the Duwisib Castle. In spite of its fortress-like appearance, Duwisib Castle has never been anything else but a private home of an extravagant German-American couple who endured many hardships to make their dreams of freedom, large-scale land ownership, and recognition within a wealthy colonial society come true - the 19th-century masters of Duwisib, Hansheinrich von Wolf and his wife Jayta.

Day 9: Namib Naukluft Park, Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei
An early morning rise will be rewarded by the sight of an amazing play of colours over the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei. At the 2x4 parking you will be transferred with a shuttle to the vlei. Here you will have the opportunity to explore the area and then maybe climb the “Big Daddy” dune for an overwhelming sight of the dynamic and living desert. On your way back to the lodge you can stop over at the Sesriem Canyon, a 30m deep gorge dug into the rock formations.

Day 10: Hansa Hotel
Depart after breakfast and drive via Solitaire, Gaub Pass and Walvis Bay to Swakopmund. You will arrive in Swakopmund in the afternoon and check in at the Hansa Hotel situated in the heart of Swakopmund. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing on the beach or exploring this small coastal holiday town.

Day 11: Swakopmund and surrounding area
Today you have the opportunity to explore Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and the surrounding area. We suggest that you visit the Moonlandscape, Welwitscha Plains (please note that you need a permit for this, which is available at Namib i in Swakopmund) or take part in one of the many alternative activities (at own expense) such as:
• Tandem Sky diving
• Quad Biking
• Sand Boarding
• Ballooning
• Paragliding
• Seal & Dolphin Boat Cruise in Walvis
• Scenic flights (Please see activities for more information)

Day 12: Cape Cross Lodge
The trip continues via Wlotzkasbaken and Hentiesbay to Cape Cross. Here you can visit one of the largest seal colonies in Namibia (optional and at own expense). From Cape Cross it's only a short drive to the Cape Cross Lodge, where after check in you have the opportunity to sit outside on the beach and enjoy a sun downer drink (at own expense), while the sun set in the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 13: Ai-Aiba – The Rockpainting Lodge
Drive to the beautiful set Ai-Aiba Lodge situated in the Erongo Mountains. Here you can enjoy an overwhelming panoramic view while relaxing at the pool. Alternatively you can take part in one of the activities offered by the lodge (at own expense), such as: • Unguided hiking trails or nature walks • A sundowner drive to the famous rock paintings of which some are more than 2000 years old

Days 14 & 15: Waterberg
Leave Ai-Aiba behind you and drive via Otjiwarongo to the Waterberg Plateau Park. Here you will be staying the next two days. The park has following activities (at own expense) to offer:
• Guided morning and afternoon game drives
• Guided and self-guided trails on the plateau
• Nature walks within the camp

Day 16: Hotel Pension Palmquell
Depart the park and drive via Okahandja to Windhoek. In Okahandja you can stop over at the Kavango woodcarvers market, have a look around or buy some last souvenirs. You will arrive in Windhoek at around noon. After check in you have some time to do some shopping in the city centre.

Day 17: Departure
After breakfast you will still have time before heading to the Hosea Kutako International Airport, where you check in for the onward or homeward flight.
