Car rental seems the easiest to organize, but there are a few things to consider when choosing a vehicle. Most importantly, the question which always arises is to what type of vehicle do you need and must it be a four wheel drive vehicle? Generally road conditions including the main gravel roads are good and can be driven in any sedan vehicle. The key to safely drive on gravel roads is to take it easy and to not rush it. However one also needs to take into consideration what time of year it is and in the rainy period (from November to April) a four wheel vehicle is required in a few areas of Namibia. This again however depends in what areas you want to travel and our team will gladly assist you in a taking the right decision.

Generally seen a four wheel drive vehicle is the best choice, but also the most expensive. A four wheel drive vehicle has the necessary ground clearance, road stability and luggage space a normal sedan cannot compete against.

For self drive tours, we only recommend fully equipped four wheel drive vehicles as these are equipped to all camping needs and ensure a relaxing camping adventure.
